Gus Stewart is a Senior Associate at Matthews Law. He is a competition & regulatory law specialist with expertise in mergers, cartels and consumer protection (including privacy) issues. He also has experience drafting a wide range of commercial agreements, including joint venture agreements, and terms & conditions.

Gus has advised clients in a wide range of industries including health, real estate, dairy, and telecommunications, and deals with the New Zealand Commerce Commission on a regular basis.

Prior to joining Matthews Law, Gus was an in-house lawyer at 2degrees where his responsibilities included marketing and privacy law issues, negotiations with suppliers and dealers/distributors, contract review, and assisting with regulatory submissions. Before that he was a solicitor in the Competition & Regulatory, and the Telecommunications, Media & Technology teams at trans-Tasman law firm Minter Ellison Rudd Watts.
