John is a Law Clerk at Matthews Law and joined the firm in 2023.
John’s responsibilities include legal & factual research relating to competition and consumer matters and assisting in day-to-day file management.
John is studying a conjoint BCom/LLB degree at the University of Auckland. He is passionate about all aspects of competition and consumer law. Prior to joining the firm, John was a Research Assistant in the Faculty of Law and a Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Commerce and Government at Victoria University of Wellington. He was also an Economics and Research Intern at the New Zealand Productivity Commission.
John received a VUW Summer Research Scholarship Award in Law in 2022 and has been published in the Competition and Consumer Law Journal.
